This picture was more a technical exercise than anything else. The task I set myself was to see if I could use any of the cameras internal settings to create a multiple exposure image. When that didn’t work I went the automated software route, this also met with failure. There maybe a very easy technique to do this sort of thing but I was unable to find it.
What I did in the end was layer the pictures on top off each other in Photoshop and remove everything in six frames except for the guy on the ride-on lawnmower. Although this is a clumsy technique it’s much faster and easier to do today than it was in the analogue past with a darkroom, masking and chemicals.
A slow shutter speed was used to emphasize the movement of man and machine.
