Iconic Irony

Maybe it’s the change of weather but I see things like old cars and classic scooters and I wonder what are the icons of today, the things that will become legendary and wistfully looked back at half a century from now. I guess there is stuff being made, but it seems invisible at the moment. Especially as the must-have gadgets of today are virtually useless after four years. But maybe the ugly twin-eyed modern scooter lurking in the background is just waiting for its older version to rust into dust. And then, being one of those odd things that visually offend at the time of production it will morph into an object of desire over a couple of generations, becoming an iconic talisman of a story that never was.
