I’ve complained for more than a few years now about the dullness of new architecture in Berlin, going so far as to label it the Berlin Cardboard Box Style, and finally someone with no concept of irony has proven that it was what I feared it was all along.
Not only is this new building a square, uninviting glass and steel cube, they’ve put up a large sign that declares that it looks like a box because that’s what it is.
Let’s hope someone with a little bit of taste will soon rise to the highest of level of corporate building decision making and save a portion of Berlin from the current ravaging wave of mediocrity….
