Sometimes it seems that these old cars are waiting for me to turn up and take their photo. This little Fiat roadster may look like a toy in this picture but that’s because it looked like a toy in the street. Photographically it’s simply a wonderful object to stumble across in a quiet street, especially with a reasonably uncluttered background, which meant I could take my time and get in a position to show the car at its best. A nice sunny day helped by dramatizing the curving lines with strong highlights.
I know it’s just some nostalgic thing, but old cars seem so much more interesting in photos than the sleek clones of today, but then photographers probably thought the same of their generation of cars way back then.
